Four musicians with a kinship spanning decades found time in their schedules to go into County Line Studio and record a "down and dirty" blues and country record. With all four having been raised in South Carolina mill towns or farm communities, their earliest influences were "front porch pickers", playing Piedmont style blues, bluegrass, country, and gospel music. They honed their musical styles over time and have become what some consider four of the cornerstones of the Upstate SC music scene. SC Folk Heritage Award winner/singer/harmonica player Freddie Vanderford,regional bluesman Shane Pruitt, guitar whiz Brandon Turner, and singer/songwriter Matthew Knights make up the all acoustic group known as Mill Billy Blues. This "side project" is a labor of love for the men, appealing to folks of all ages. Join us for this special night as we celebrate the group's first CD release.
